Our Story

Orient Allways, formerly known as Orient Transport has a history of over a century. The founders were prominent exporters of oilseed. As the company grew in size, it decided to embark on forward integration and ventured into freight forwarding. Prior 1949, the founders had tied up with Britain-based Aspinwall to establish Aspinwall Lukhmidass & Co., a firm engaged in freight brokerage. Towards the late 70s, the company was granted a Customs Broking Licence by Mumbai Customs House, and ever since has been one of the prominent Customs Broker in the Western Ports of India.

Orient Allways has expertise in handling Polyester / Agro Products / Metals / Engg. Goods / Chemicals / Pharmaceuticals / Textile Goods. Orient Allways presently has a throughput of more than 75,000 containers in 2021 and is poised to grow, with its recent foray in freight forwarding on a pan-India basis.

Partners

Shailesh Dalal

Mr. Dalal started off as a freight broker in 1977, picking up the reins from his father Late Mr. Pravin Dalal. He was able to establish a niche for the firm in handling exports of cotton yarn and handled almost 50% of the volumes from India. With growing reputation, he started handling imports of steel / flat products and controlled almost 40% of imports into Mumbai port.

He has handed a special project on the request of Jnpt Authorities to help streamline port congestion which won him a citation from DP World. He serves on the Board of Pioneer Investor Corpn. He is also on the Managing Committee of Bombay Overseas Freight Broker’s Association. His vision is to establish Orient Allways as a global brand before the end of this decade.

Abhishek Dalal

Armed with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Management (Marketing & Finance), Abhishek launched his career in the Financial Services Sector as an Equity Research Analyst. After a 3-year stint he started a firm named Shades, which manufactured Sun Glasses & Spectacles. After joining the family firm Orient Allways, he has also helped the firm diversify into the realty & hospitality sector by establishing Dalal Gruh & Infra Projects and Woods Hospitality respectively.

Abhishek Dalal

Ravi Iyer

Chief Executive Officer

He started his career in freight forwarding in 1987 with a Swiss firm and has rapidly gained experience in all facets of freight forwarding. His past employment has been with reputed firms like Cargocare AG., Freighwings, Seahorse Group. His last stint lasted 15 years with Agility Logistics, where he was given various roles including Product Management, Human Resource Management, Sales Management & Operations Management. He is a Commerce Graduate and a Management Degree holder in Marketing from University of Mumbai.

Vishal Anand

Chief Operating Officer

Vishal has over 22 years experience in the logistics industry. Having honed his skills in large organisations like Maersk, Damco & Agility, he is exposed to the nuances of trade across various geographies. A Commerce Graduate & a masters degree holder in Management, Vishal is known to devise new products anticipating needs of the trade. His extensive knowledge of requirements of the Retail & Automobile industry has seen him win plaudits from industry professionals.
